Producer Company Registration in India: For Farmers & FPOs
A Producer Company is a hybrid structure that gives farmers and primary producers the benefits of a company while retaining cooperative principles. It is the backbone of most Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs).
Why Form One?
- Limited liability and a separate legal identity.
- Better access to credit, markets, and government schemes.
- Collective bargaining power for inputs and produce.
Eligibility
A minimum of ten individual producers, or two or more producer institutions, can form a Producer Company. Members must be primary producers.
The Process
Obtain DSC and DIN for directors, reserve the name, and file incorporation with the MOA and AOA reflecting producer objectives. PAN and TAN follow.
Statura registers Producer Companies and FPOs and links them to MSME and government scheme benefits.
